Spain manager Vicente del Bosque rued his side's profligacy in front of goal as La Roja crashed to a 2-0 international friendly defeat to Holland in Amsterdam on Tuesday night.
Holland were 5-1 winners when the two sides met at the World Cup last summer and two goals in four first-half minutes from Stefan de Vrij and Davy Klaassen earned the Oranje victory at the Amsterdam ArenA on Tuesday night.
Del Bosque, who guided Spain to 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012 glory, was disappointed to lose a game he believed his side dominated and felt their sluggish start cost them dearly.
"It seems impossible not to have scored. The first 20 minutes have burdened us," he told a post-match press conference.
"We have taken command of the game, we've been all over them, we have reached the penalty area but we lacked a goal."
Del Bosque handed debuts to Sevilla winger Vitolo and Malaga forward Juanmi and he was impressed with their contributions.
"The two rookies have had a good performance. Vitolo has been very active and Juanmi looked like scoring," Del Bosque added.
Spain have won four of their five Euro 2016 qualifiers to sit second in their group and face Belarus in Barysaw in their next qualifier on June 14.
