    Tilson rues missed chances

    22 Mar 2008 - 10:39:33

Southend United manager Steve Tilson thought his side had the opportunities to beat table-topping Swansea City, but still believes his in-form team can clinch a place in the play-offs.

Hal Robson-Kanu's third goal in three games on the stroke of half-time ensured the Shrimpers took a point from a hard-fought 1-1 draw at a windswept Roots Hall.

Tilson admitted after the match: "It was a tough game and the conditions made it hard. You had two good footballing sides, but the weather made it difficult to get the ball down and play.

"Overall though, we created enough chances to have won the game. The lads showed great energy and there's a lot of belief here.

"It was disappointing not to take the three points, but we're on a good run of form. It's another point towards where we're trying to reach."
