Tilson refuses to deal

Southend United boss Steve Tilson has insisted that he won't be forced into making any rash loan signings as the loan transfer window comes to a close.

Winger Ishmel Demontagnac remains on trial with the Blues and could yet sign a permanent deal but, despite being in the fight for a play-off place, Tilson doesn't see temporary signings as a solution.

"At the moment I don't see anything happening to be honest," Tilson told the official club website, adding: "We've made a few phone calls and there isn't much out there right now.

"The lads have been fantastic for me lately though so it doesn't concern me too much anyway."
