Tilson hands trial to Ishmel

Southend United boss Steve Tilson has handed a trial to the former Walsall winger Ishmel Demontagnac.

The 20-year-old, who was sacked by the Saddlers in November following a series of serious breaches of club discipline, will feature for the Shrimpers' reserve team against Watford's second string.

"Ishmel's had trials with Leeds and Charlton and now he's come to us," Tilson told the club's official website.

"He's a good player and plays in a position where we're short but we'll have a look at him this evening and then go from there."
