Tilson hails four-goal Blues

Southend United manager Steve Tilson has challenged his side to maintain the high standards they produced in Wednesday's 4-1 rout of Huddersfield Town.

Leon Clarke, Mark Gower and a brace from Alan McCormack put the Terriers to the sword and afterwards Tilson was delighted with the performance.

"It was an excellent performance and a good three points for us," he told the club's official website.

"Huddersfield were on a good run of form, but I felt that we should have held a much more convincing lead at half-time.

"Our passing and movement was especially excellent and we created plenty of chances from which we should have added to our lead.

"We have to build on this performance though and string a few more results together.

"If we continue to work hard then there is no result why we can't continue to move up the table because we have showed exactly what we are all about."
