Southend United boss Steve Tilson was delighted with his side's display in their 2-0 home win over promotion hopefuls Scunthorpe United.

Goals from Theo Robinson and Alan McCormack gave the Blues the points at Roots Hall, as Tilson's men backed up a 1-0 success at Colchester United in style.

He told The Gazette: "It was a good win for us against what I think is a very strong Scunthorpe side.

"They have been up towards the top all year, so to beat them like we did was fantastic.

"I thought we played well, especially in the second half when we kept the ball better and I couldn't really have asked for much more from the lads."
