Tilson after Brentford before Brighton Hove Albion
While one manager involved in the exciting 2-2 draw at Roots Hall Tuesday evening is unhappy his team didn't grab the three points, the other is just happy with the one. Tilly: Blues boss Steve Tilson was obviously shocked when skipper Adam Barrett's hamstring went during the warm-up before the match with Brentford had even kicked off! However, he's now accepted the footballing Gods are just not with the Shrimpers this season but still wants his side to go into the remianing four games believing four games with the commitment they showed in the second period.Tilly spoke to www.southendunited.co.uk: "For the first 25 minutes, Brentford dominated procedings and we were very flat. It looked like we didn't want the ball, but it was totally different in the second half. We showed a lot of energy and totally dominated. I thought we would win the game and I'm disappointed that we haven't."As for escaping the dreaded drop?Tilly continued: "I think we needed three points, but all we can do is the best we can in each game and see if that is enough. I feel we have to win three of our last four games now, but if we show the same energy and belief as we did in the second half tonight, who knows what can happen." Scott: However, Bees boss Andy Scott was happy enough with the draw seeing how many fit players he had on the pitch at the end, something that was a factor in letting the home side back in the game.Scott told www.brentfordfc.co.uk: "We played too deep second half, we allowed them to get it into their front players, they got into our final third too easily. At the end we played with a side that for the last 15-20 minutes was out on it's feet and carrying injuries. We have to be pleased to get something."He certainly acknowledged that United raised their game in the latter 45 minutes to place his team under the cosh.Scott concluded: "Fair play to Southend, they have gone for it, but we allowed them to put pressure on us. For the first 15 to 20 minutes we were so on top it was ridiculous. As soon as we scored though we stopped doing what we had been doing and allowed them back into the game."
