Tilson: Tough start for Shrimpers

Published: 17 Jun 2009 - 16:02:41

The new fixtures have handed his men an opening day clash at home to Huddersfield, followed by trips to Walsall and Wycombe and games with Millwall and Swindon. "When the fixtures come out and you can see who you are playing then it builds the excitement," he told his club's official website. "We've a difficult start as you would expect Huddersfield, Walsall, Millwall and Swindon to all have play-off aspirations." The Huddersfield game will see former United captain Peter Clarke make an instant return to Roots Hall following his recent move north and the irony is not lost on Tilson. "It's funny how these things happen," he added. "I'm sure the supporters will look forward to that and it will be good for Peter to say goodbye to everyone properly."
