The Bees Bean: 'MacDonald says Shrimper fans get on their team backs'

Brenrford stand-in skipper Marcus Bean is well up for Tuesday evening's vital clash with the Shrimpers at Roots Hall, and expects his team to be the same.  Bean: 'Can Southend handle the pressure of the relegation battle they're in'The Bees of West London are now unbeaten for seven games and stand-in skipper, midfielder Marcus Bean, a local boy born in Hammersmith, wants them to continue their fine run at Roots Hall Tuesday night. After their 3-0 demolition of Huddersfield on Saturday they certainly visit the south-east of Essex in fine spirit, a match that gives Blues boss Steve Tilson his 300th league game in charge and sees the Shrimpers in vital need of three points to have any chance of escaping relegation.Bean spoke to www.brentfordfc.co.uk: "We are all playing for our spots for next season. Everyone knows the gaffer (Andy Scott) will continue to improve the squad. We feel we have had a good season, it can be great if we can finish higher. We are all ambitious and want to be part of it."Ex-Shrimper Charlie MacDonald has led the way with 16 goals this term and it seems he's been passing on his opinion of the club. The Bees own Mr. Bean continued: "Speaking to Charlie, he has been there and says the fans get on their backs. If we start well and get at them from minute one we can see if they can handle the pressure of the relegation battle they are in."We'll try Marcus, but S24 thinks Charlie means we got on his back because he wasn't very good at our place, and believes your hear a very passionate Roots Hall behind their team for this one.
