Stopper reveals Shrimpers spirit
United narrowly avoided going into administration last weekend when they settled a £2.1million tax bill, but they have managed to maintain a healthy position in the League One table despite all the distractions. And, ahead of this weekend's trip to his former club Yeovil, Mildenhall has applauded his team-mates for sticking together. "I knew as soon as I arrived at Southend what a tight knit team they were, especially with the banter which flew around literally as soon as I stepped through the door," he said. "People say having a small squad can be a disadvantage sometimes but if anything it has made us closer as a unit since the season began, we've just kept our heads down and concentrated on our football and there is no doubt being a smaller group of players has enforced this."
