Southend United's Paul Sturrock and Lincoln City's Scott Lindsey after the game

Both managers had their say after Shrimpers beat Imps 1-0 at Roots Hall Saturday; one worried about missed chances, the other was still a grumpy Luggy despite three points! Sturrock: 'The biggest problem we have is our home form is so erratic' Blues boss Paul Sturrock might have been happy with the win gained after Barry Corr's third minute header on Saturday afternoon against managerless Lincoln, but he put on a good show of hiding it in interviews after the game! Luggy told BBC Essex: "It was a horrible win but it was still a win. But the biggest problem we have is our home form has been so erratic - it's all fits and starts. I'm trying to get to the bottom of that and have watched tape after tape and thought it might be fitness or their mental approach. Hopefully the players will give me their opinions and we can settle it in their minds."At the end of the day though it moved the team up the table and only one point outside the play-off zone, and we would have accepted that in the dark days of the close season when many of the faithful wondered if we would have a club to support at all!The Southend manager still ended on a cautious note: "It was a clean sheet at home but we must get to the bottom of our inconsistency because better teams will punish us." Meanwhile, the Imps caretaker boss Scott Lindsey felt his side gave him their all in his first, and possibily only, match in charge, and were slightly unlucky not to get a point, (he's learning quickly), and are 'not far off becoming a decent side.'Lindsey spoke to BBC Lincolnshire: "It's a hard place to come and when you concede after two minutes it makes the task all the harder, but I'm pleased with the effort the players put in, they all worked extremely hard for me. The effort, the will, the determination was all there but I'm bitterly disappointed because I felt we maybe deserved more out of the game. We're getting the chances but we're not hitting the back of the net. We've had the lion's share of chances again today but we've just got to keep going and be confident that it will come."
