Southend United manager Paul Sturrock is looking at experience over youth when returning to the transfer market after the Chesterfield and FA Cup clashes this weekend. Sturrock: 'Need people at the club who have been there, done it and got the t-shirt'Utility man Miguel Comminges may be the first signing in the presently open January transfer window, but do not expect him to be the last. However, after bringing in the odd youngster on loan this season, mainly without success, Blues boss Paul Sturrock now accept that more experience is needed to bolster the squad. Sturrock told www.southendunited.co.uk: "We need people at this football club who have been there, done it, and got the t-shirt. I've brought in a few youngsters on loan this season but it's hard for them to make an impact. They aren't experienced, can be slightly naive and it's unfair to have to rely on them. That's why I'm now looking at players who have played well in League Two before or at an even higher level." Imapatiant as the Shrimpers faithful is for some new blood, they are going to have to wait a touch longer, and certainly until after the League Two game with league leaders Chesterfield at Roots Hall Saturday afternoon.Luggy explained: "I'm working very hard on trying to make signings but it's difficult at the moment because clubs don't want to let players go before the FA Cup games this weekend. That means we may have to wait a little bit longer but we had a meeting yesterday and we've now got a long list of transfer targets which will be working our way through."
