Southend United have handed a trial to Tottenham youngster Stuart Lewis. The England youth international has make eight appearances for Spurs' second string this season after moving to White Hart Lane from north London rivals Arsenal in 2004. The 19-year-old midfielder will take part in Southend's reserve clash with Colchester United at Roots Hall on Tuesday as he looks to impress Shrimpers boss Steve Tilson. First-team regulars Spencer Prior, Efe Sodje and Matt Harrold will also play some part in the fixture after returning from injury and suspension respectively.
