Southend United are hoping to keep teenage midfielder Gary Hooper at Roots Hall after offering him a new contract.
Hooper, 19, was sent out on loan to League One side Leyton Orient last season after arriving at Southend from Conference side Grays Athletic in the summer.
"We've made him an offer. We regard him as a good prospect for the future and we want that to be with Southend," revealed Shrimpers boss Steve Tilson.
Meanwhile, Tilson has told James Lawson and Efe Sodje that their contracts won't be renewed and they are free to leave Roots Hall.
