Shrimper contracts swine flu

Southend United midfielder Damian Scannell has contracted the swine flu virus.
Scannell had already been sidelined from pre-season due to an ankle injury picked up last week, but has been diagnosed with the virus by the club's medical staff.
The 24-year-old is expected to be shelved for at least six weeks with the ankle knock, though his rehabilitation will be delayed while he suffers from the bug.
