Revell leg woe for Shrimpers

Southend United striker Alex Revell will miss the rest of the season after breaking his leg.

The 25-year-old was stretchered off in the closing stages of Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient and scans have confirmed the severity of the injury.

"He's having more tests done and he will be operated on during Thursday," physio John Stannard told the club's official website.

"The surgeon will insert a metal plate into the leg. He's looking at six months before he's fully fit."
