Brighton & Hove Albion are hopeful that Alex Revell can make a swift return from hernia surgery in time for their FA Cup tie against Torquay United.
The Seagulls take on the Blue Square Premier side on Saturday and Revell could be included in the squad just four weeks after undergoing a second bout of hernia surgery.
The 24-year-old will test his fitness with a run out for the reserves in midweek before manager Dean Wilkins makes a final decision.
"These days with a hernia you come out of hospital and within days you are doing some form of exercise," he told the Brighton Argus.
"It won't take him too long. He has been doing quite a bit of work and rehabilitation for a while.
"He has looked fit in the sessions we have had and he's going to get a game under his belt.
"He could be (included), depending how he gets through this game."
