Paterson set for Shrimpers debut

The youngster, who made five appearances and scored two goals after graduating from Southampton's academy, could be thrust straight into the side as a direct replacement for the departed Lee Barnard following the striker's move in the opposite direction. Boss Steve Tilson is also missing Jean-Yves M'Voto as the centre-back continues his rehabilitation from hip surgery. The on-loan Sunderland defender did come through 45 minutes of Wednesday's 2-2 reserve team draw with Ipswich's second string unscathed but the Frenchman is short of match fitness and remains out. Left-back Scott Malone plays the final game of his loan spell from Wolves. Tilson has already confirmed that he will be speaking to Molineux boss Mick McCarthy next week about the 19-year-old's future. Wycombe's visit will see the return of winger Kevin Betsy, who transferred to the Wanderers last week.
