Leonard: 'I would love to sign here and hope something can be sorted soon: Former Plymouth Argyle

Southend United manager Paul Sturrock wants to grab former Plymouth Argyle full back Ryan Leonard as soon as possible, and with the goals he's been scoring, who can blame him! Sturrock: 'I think bringing Ryan to the club would add an extra edge to Sean Clohessy’s game' He did it again, but only from 30 yards this time, Sean Clohessy must be getting a touch nervous. Then again, the young trialist Ryam Leonard hasn't signed on for the Shrimpers, yet! Sturrock told www.echo-news.co.uk: "I will be talking to Ryan again tomorrow and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realise we want to sign him. He’s scored another great goal and has done well against all the opposing teams we’ve played. I also think bringing him to the club would add an extra edge to Sean Clohessy’s game because it would put his place under pressure.” Of course, it helps that Blues boss Paul Sturrock was in charge Plymouth Argyle when young Ran was brought into their youth team, but for now, he's saying all the right things.  Leonard said: “I’ve enjoyed it at Southend and it’s a really nice part of the country as well. The matches have gone well and, although it’s early days, the fans have been good to me too. I was impressed by how many went to Scotland so I would love to sign here and hope something can be sorted soon.”
