Southend United manager Steve Tilson has taken Ashford Town (Middlesex) striker Byron Harrison on trial in order to cast his eye over the highly-rated youngster.
The 21-year-old joined his current club from Ryman Premier outfit from Harrow Borough in January 2008.
This season he has impressed, scoring 19 goals so far and has also featured for Havant and Waterlooville during his non-league career.
Tilson will feature against Colchester United's reserves on Wednesday night at Roots Hall. The Shrimpers have been relatively disappointing this term and occupy 15th place in the table.
