Freedman to miss finale

Veteran Southend United striker Dougie Freedman's injury-ravaged campaign has continued after it was confirmed that he will miss the final match of the season against Cheltenham Town with a thigh problem.
The 34-year-old former Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest forward suffered a recurrence of the problem that has blighted his season in last weekend's 1-1 draw at Oldham Athletic.
Since moving to Roots Hall last summer, the ex-Scotland international has started only 12 first-team games for the Shrimpers.
Last weekend's appearance at Boundary Park had been Freedman's first start since February.
