Federici ends Shrimpers spell

Southend United manager Steve Tilson has allowed goalkeeper Adam Federici to end his loan spell at Roots Hall and return to Reading.

The Australian shot-stopper made ten appearances during his two months with the Shrimpers but his services are no longer required as Steve Mildenhall will revert to the goalkeeper's role for Tuesday's League One match at Cheltenham Town.

"Adam did fantastically well for us but Steve will come back in now," Tilson told the club's official website.

"Mildy was great against Telford in the cup and I think he's been given an unfair time since he's been here to be honest.

"He's been given stick by the press which I don't think he deserved and people have reacted to that.

"He hasn't let me down once this season so I just need him to come back in and carry on playing like he has been doing for us all season when he's been fit."
