Dead leg sidelines Scannell

Southend United winger Damian Scannell has joined the lengthy Roots Hall injury list.

The 23-year-old missed the goalless draw at Cheltenham Town with a dead leg and joins Lee Barnard, Dougie Freedman, Alex Revell and Paul Furlong on the sidelines.

"Damian is out as well at the moment injured," Shrimpers boss Steve Tilson told the club's official website.

"It's hard to believe how many we have out. Francis Laurent is back from suspension and I'm planning to keep him away from anyone else in training for the rest of the week to make sure he's okay!"
