Clarke waiting on Blues offer

Southend United defender Peter Clarke is waiting on the offer of a new contract from the club before deciding whether to stay put.

The 27-year-old has been at Roots Hall for thee seasons and is pondering a move away from the League One outfit.

He told the club's official website: "Now the games are out of the way, I'm sure there will be some dialogue between the club and myself.

"I've never asked to leave, but I don't know what the chairman has in mind so we'll have to see what comes to pass."

Clarke has made 150 appearances for the Blues since his arrival from Blackpool in the summer of 2006.
