Southend strengthened their squad before the closure of the transfer window with the capture of striker Lee Bradbury from Oxford.
The 30-year-old former Manchester City star has been is dispute over a contract with Oxford and the U's have agreed to let him spend the rest of the season with the Shrimpers.
Boss Steve Tilson turned his attentions to Bradbury after Gillingham knocked back his attempts to sign Darren Byfield.
