Blues reject winger bid

Southend United have rejected a fresh approach from Barnsley for unsettled winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce.

The Jamaica international has been left out of the squad for Southend's last two matches amid interest from the Tykes, but Shrimpers chairman Ron Martin has revealed the Championship club have tabled a second reduced offer which has been rejected.

"Barnsley have submitted another bid which was considerably lower than their offer four weeks or so ago," he told the club's official website.

"I have categorically turned that offer down."

The 24-year-old joined the Shrimpers last summer on a free transfer from Rotherham United.
