Southend United captain Adam Barrett has insisted that he is happy to continue in a left-back role to accommodate loan signing Dorian Dervitte.
Dervitte has slotted into the heart of the Shrimpers back four since his loan switch from Tottenham Hotspur
His arrival saw Barrett move wide in the win over Bristol Rovers and it is expected that he is to remain there for the weekend's trip to Swindon Town.
"I get the chance to get forward a little bit more, which I do enjoy doing," Barrett told BBC Essex.
"Obviously I'm a centre-half and that's my main position, but I'll play there as long as I'm needed to.
"I don't mind at all, whatever's the best for the team at the time I'm prepared to do."
