Baldwin: Shrimpers can stay up

Published: 18 Mar 2010 - 16:20:42

Baldwin has spent the last two months at Roots Hall after agreeing a temporary move from Colchester, helping the Shrimpers to their first clean sheet since October in the 0-0 draw with fellow relegation candidates Exeter last Saturday. The 27-year-old believes Southend can avoid the drop given they sit just three points off safety and have a game in hand over the Grecians. "This is a great club with fantastic supporters and all the lads are doing their best considering the circumstances," he told the club's official website. "Between now and the end of the season we are giving it our best shot to stay up. "Little things like not letting in goals are bound to give us a boost at the moment so that gives us something to build on heading into Saturday's game."
