Southend United boss Steve Tilson was delighted to see his side record their first away win in the Championship with a 1-0 victory at Cardiff City.
A stunning Lee Bradbury strike gave Tilson's side the three points, although they are still bottom of the table and facing a drop back into League One.
Tilson said: "It's great to get our first away win, but it's been coming.
"We've drawn with Luton, Norwich and Coventry in our last three and this was another decent performance, which will hopefully give the players the hope to go on and fight away from home.
"It's always tough when you're on a losing run and we didn't win for 17 away from home and the longer it goes on the tougher it gets.
"People saw us as dead certs to go down and dead and buried, but this result shows the spirit we've got here and now we've given ourselves a chance."
