Zola snubs Southend move

Crewe manager Dario Gradi has revealed misfiring striker Calvin Zola has rejected a move to League Two rivals Southend. The 25-year-old has only scored one goal in six appearances this season and has slipped down the pecking order at Gresty Road. Zola remained on the bench throughout the remarkable 5-5 draw at Chesterfield on Saturday and has missed out on the starting XI for the last four games. However, the Congolese forward has snubbed a move to Southend despite Gradi not selecting him in the side. "Calvin is not even scoring any goals in training," Gradi said in The Sentinel. "He could have gone to Southend if he'd wanted to, but he didn't want to go."
