Cheltenham Town manager Mark Yates is in charge of a team in form, and the recently defeated Shrimpers must be on top of their game to get something from the weekend trip to Whaddon Road.

Yates: 'Southend have a bit of everything in their squad'   Robins boss Mark Yates feels his team has has a good week, getting drawn to play Spurs away in the FA Cup would cheer any lower league boss up, like possibily getting Liverpool, but we can't speak about that, but knows that there's five league games before that massive game, and grabbing as many league two points as you can are what matters most.

Yates told www.ctfc.com: 'We need to focus on Southend and nothing else if we want to continue our good form in the league. the next game is always the most important. We have something to look forward too for sure but the boys won't do themselves any favours if they are only concentrating on the Tottenham game. They know the score and Southend is our priority."   And yates was a spectator in the stands at Roots Hall during our 2-1 JPT loss to Swindon Town.

He continued: "I saw Southend Tuesday and they are a good, strong and organised team. They are top of the league and confident so it will be a very tough encounter. It's the kind of game you really want to be involved in and quite rightly so. Hopefully the supporters really back us again and they can be an extra man on the day."   Sure they can, and it helps that there average gate of 3,046 will be boosted by part-time fans looking for cup tickets.

Yates concluded: "Southend have a bit of everything in their squad and that's what I think about ourselves too. It will be a real battle and i think it will come down to who works hard enough on the day. This is the kind of game you want to be involved in and I'm looking forward to it."   As we all are mate, it should be quite an afternoon.
