Webb was brought in as Tilson's number two on Tuesday after chairman Ron Martin dismissed Paul Brush following the 3-0 reverse to Hartlepool, a result which saw the Shrimpers fall into the League One drop zone.[LNB]And the 63-year-old - back at Roots Hall for his fifth stint in a managerial capacity - looked to appease critics of his appointment by pledging to help Tilson turn the fortunes of the Essex club around.[LNB]He told the club's official website: "I am not coming here to take over. I am here, to coin an old fashioned phrase, in a consultant role. Equally I'm not coming here to be insulted or to insult other people but to just help the team be the best it can.[LNB]"I will do the best I can until the end of the season to help out Tilly and Ron and the whole club. It will be nice to rally the troops and get in supporters behind the whole club because we are in for a tough battle.[LNB]"Some people may be reluctant to have you on the training ground but I know Steve when he worked for me and he knows I will slide and out when needed. It is too late in the day too change much, we are now at the time where we have to try and consolidate and keep fighting."[LNB][LNB]
