United and the Grecians had the golden opportunity to pull themselves closer to safety with a win, but both sides were unable to break the deadlock in a game lacking in quality.[LNB]Vernon had two chances to put his side in front but was foiled by visiting keeper Paul Jones and the 26-year-old admitted he was frustrated not to see his side win despite recording a useful clean sheet.[LNB]"It was good to get a clean sheet but disappointing not to score at the other end," Vernon told the club's official website.[LNB]"At the moment we are lacking that little bit of belief in front of goal but it was a good defensive display and other than putting the ball in the back of the net we played well. I had a couple of chances and I was frustrated not to have put them away."[LNB]The Shrimpers now have two games on home soil and Vernon believes his side must win both. "We have a couple of home games now so we have to get maximum points out of them. That is going to be hard but we have to go into those games believing we can do it," he added.[LNB][LNB]
