Blues assistant boss Tommy Widdrington was pleased with the side's first pre-season friendly victory over Conference National side Eastbourne Borough 1-0. Widdrington: 'Turkish defender Bilel Moshni headed home in the 26th minute in East Sussex to give the Shrimpers their first win in four pre-season friendlies, and Blues No. 2 Tommy Widdrington was more than pleased with the victory..He told www.southendunited.co.uk: "Every game we go into we want to win the match and we expect certain standards. On occasions we reached that level but on a tricky pitch our passing could have been better at times. However, it is pleasing to score a goal from something we have worked on during training and get that first win under our belts."And he held out special praise for the goalscorer.Widdrington continued: "It is our job to go out there and find players to help take Southend United forward. Without getting too carried away Bilel has done very well in the games he has played in. He is still very raw but he has the basic tools that everyone would like, he is big, mobile and can head it, but he doesn't speak English which is a minor drawback."Then again Tommy finished on, "you could argue neither do Paul and I!"
