Tilson stays positive after defeat

The Shrimpers, who are still searching for their first League One win after drawing their opening four fixtures, were dumped out of the cup after strikes from Tom Cairney, Jozy Altidore and Geovanni. Franck Moussa scored for Southend as Tilson found plenty of plusses ahead of the Shrimpers' return to league action. He said: "I'm disappointed at the result but pleased with the performance. There were a lot of positives to take from the game. "It was a good goal from Franck, great technique, and we created a couple more good chances. We probably created a lot more chances than them but that is the difference in quality, they put theirs away. "We came out second half and had a really good spell before they scored but we needed to get that goal. It didn't quite drop for us. I'm proud of the way the boys played but disappointed we didn't get the result."
