Tilson states case for defence

Goals from Ian Goodison and Terry Gornell earned bottom-of-the-table Rovers their first points in five games.[LNB]United have lost four of their last five matches on the road in all competitions and have kept only one clean sheet in their last nine outings.[LNB]Tilson was disappointed with how his side defended but felt Southend deserved better than the scoreline suggested.[LNB]"We conceded two poor goals and we will need to look into that," said Tilson. "Obviously it was a disappointing result, but I thought our performance deserved something from the game.[LNB]"As the away team, we created plenty of chances but Tranmere put their chances away and we didn't. That's how it goes sometimes. Tranmere's performance did not surprise me. Indeed, I thought we were the better side on the night."[LNB][LNB]
