Imps of Lincoln City 2 Southend United 1: Lincoln City beat the Shrimpers. Tilson: 'Martin hasn't treated me the way he should have'It was always bound to be former manager Steve Tilson's day at Sincil Bank Saturday and a 2-1 win over the Shrimpers sealed that and the points. And the travelling Shrimpers faithful played their part with over a thousand amking the journey to Lincoln to say thanks to the man who brought so much success to the club.In fact, with a small crowd of 3,560, I would laid bets there was a 50-50 split between the supporters, a fantastic effort. Tilson told www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk: "To win the game first and foremost was great, but the reception myself and Paul Brush were given by the Southend fans was tremendous. It made my hair stand up and what can I say? There was a lot of emotion because I did not want to leave the way I did."No, sadly, it's Shrimpers supremo Ron Martin that must shoulder the blame for any bad feeling between the club and T&B, a situation that created such emotion behind the weekend's clash that had enough riding on it as it was, both sides needing the points for their respective positions in the league. Tilson explained: "I said before that the Southend chairman has to make decisions and he felt it was the right one. I had no problem with that. It's just matters since I left which have not been right for me. I am a straight down the middle type of guy and he (Martin) hasn't treated me the way he should have. But to see those fans after the game was terrific."So good luck to Tilly and Brush as all Shrimpers now have to move on, the team are wobbling, and need our backing to get through a very tough period leading up to Easter.
