Sturrock: 'We dominated from first minute to last; Scott: 'They were better in every department'

Both managers had their say after Southend United's stunning 4 goal hammering of the Millers Saturday afternoon, and as you can expect, one was happier than the other.   Sturrock: 'Two wondrous strikes from Michael Timlin'   Blues boss Paul Sturrock said before Saturday's League Two clash with Rotherham United that his side 'relishes playing against the top teams'.   Well, he sure proved that right with the Shrimpers coming out four goal winners at the Don Miller Stadium in Sheffield, and not a card in sight, of either colour!   Sturrock told the PA: "We've been tagged as boring after our two previous performances, but we weren't boring. We dominated from the first minute to the last. We showed we have some really good players. They had a couple of half-chances before we scored, but after that we were in control. The last 10 minutes of the first half we got pegged back a little and I thought it might be one of those days, but we came back in the second half with two wondrous strikes from Michael Timlin.Neil Harris' goal was his first of the season and that's a bonus for him and hopefully that will now kickstart him for the rest of the season."   Not sure whose been giving the side the 'boring' accusation, but that's certainly been knocked into touch as the Millers will have to wait at least another year before they finally beat the Blues in South Yorkshire for the first time since 1980!   Scott: 'My team was out-worked and out-fought and I'm very disappointed'   Meanwhile, Millers manager Andy Scott had hinted at changes to his defence who he described as "not up to it" following a 3-3 draw at Torquay last weekend, but in the end the only change he made, at centre-back, skipper Ryan Cresswell for Troy Brown, was forced on him by injury, handing the captians armband to former Shrimper Alex Revell.   The former Brentford boss gambled, he lost; that's seven goals conceded in two games!    Scott told BBC Radio Sheffield: "It was totally unacceptable from start to finish. They were better then us in every department. My team was out-worked and out-fought and I'm very disappointed and upset about it. The players are well aware of that fact. One thing I'm going to have to take on board is that the players can't take the information on or carry out what's being asked of them. If that's going to be the case than the players won't be playing in the side. All we, the fans and chairman wants is to see their team working hard and putting everything they can into it."   And they face a tough trip to Port Vale next Saturday to try and do just that, however, as they remain only two points off the top spot in sixth place with a better goal difference than Southend, no need to panic at the moment!
