Sturrock: 'We didn't deserve anything': Peschisolido: 'We got stronger & better as game went on'

Both managers had their say after the game which saw the Brewers come out on top 3-1; one was apologising for a poor first half performance, the other was just apologising. Sturrock: 'Chucking the dices up to see who is going to play at Cheltenham'It's just one win in eleven games now and Blues boss Paul Sturrock is well aware that this was a disappointing performance that few of his team came out in credit, keeper Glenn Morris aside.Sturrock told www.southendunited.co.uk: "I felt sorry for the travelling fans because you have to go and earn the right to play and at times we didn't do that. Second half we went out at the front and dictated from the start and it might have been different if we had got back to level terms. But as the game unfolded you could see match fitness and sharpness seep away."Emm, I think it snowed in Burton as well Luggs so not sure you can blame poor match preperation even if the home side got a cup tie in between the adverse weather. Nothing on playing the boy Woodyard.Let's just hope the faithful followed our pub crawl before hand, it would have made the match pass by far easier!Anyway, Luggy continued: "If we had gone in at half-time and then got the equaliser it would have been a completly different ball game but, to be fair, by the end of the game we didn't deserve to get anything out of it. Burton's third goal was a great finish into the top corner and you could see a few of our heads went down after that."So on to Cheltenham and our vital match in hand, though it will be tough to come away with anything from that as well at the moment.Sturrock concluded: "The important thing is we have got a match under our belts after a longer lay-off than most teams. We've got another game on Tuesday but it will still be a case of chucking the dices up to see who is going to play." Peschisolido: 'I would say first half performance was one of our worst' Meanwhile, Brewers boss Paul Pechsolido was not over praising his side, especially over what he felt was a dodgy first 45 for them.Awful we say, I mean they were only two up and had missed a spot-kick!Peschisolido told BBC Radio Derby: "I can't say I was too happy with our first-half performance. In fact, I would say it was one of our worst. However, we found ourselves two goals to the good. The workrate and endeavour was there but the passing was poor and we just kept giving them the ball and we could have gone into our shell after James Collins missed the penalty. But we kept going and kept firing away and in the end scored a couple of goals of real quality."He was though more than contented with the way Burton finished off the game.Peschisolido explained: "As the game went on, we got stronger and better and created numerous opportunities and I was pleased with some of inter-change on play in the final third. They got a goal back but I think it woke us up a bit and spurred us on. I thought we played much better second half and bossed it and could have scored two or three more."
