Sturrock to make his mind up over strikers McLeod and Hammond's Shrimpers future
The Shrimpers gave trails to strikers Izale McLeod and Elvis Hammond in the reserves playing at Oxford Wednesday, and will know their fate at the club over the next couple of days. Strikers Izale McLeod and Elvis Hammond were both given a trail in the reserves playing at Oxford United Wednesday evening, starting in the 1-1 draw with Elvis looking a touch sharper than Izale.McLeod turned down a number of offers from Championship clubs before eventually signing for Charlton Athletic, then in the second tier, for a cool £1.1 million. However, Hammond is also not to be sniffed at, having played for Fulham and Leicester City in his time, and even grabbing a goal against us when with Cheltenham Town last season in our 2-1 Carling Cup first round win.
