Both Southend United manager Paul Sturrock and Wycombe Wanderers boss Gary Waddock had their say after the Chairboys 3-1 Saturday afternoon at Adams Park saw the home side celebrate automatic promotion. Sturrock: 'I wish Wycombe all the best'Even though the result didn't matter too much in the end for the essex boys Blues boss Paul Sturrock was quite rightly unhappy with the loss at Wycombe Saturday, his side's first defeat in six games, especially in front of the packed away end for the last game of along and mixed campaign in their usual mix of fancy dress and overall good spirits, most of it drunk before the game, we think!Sturrock told the Press Association: "I'm a bit disappointed with the goals we lost, the first two were Southend-made and put them on the front foot and gave them the confidence. The whole complexion changed then but I wish Wycombe all the best, they've been a good side all season and they deserve their promotion. I would have liked to have finished higher up the league - I think you've seen we're competitive against anyone in the league."We'll see how competitive this time next year! How it happened:www.southendunited-mad.co.uk/rprt/mtch/wycombe_wanderers_3__1_southend_united__match_report_676032/index.shtmlFrom the Echo:www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/theblues/9014203.Wycombe_Wanderers_3__Southend_United_1/Waddock: 'We have secured promotion with a fantastic group of players here'Meanwhile, Chairboys boss Gary Waddock was quite rightly celebrating his teams promotion and already thinking ahead to make sure what happened the last time they went into the third tier, staright back down again the following season, is not repeated.Waddock told BBC Three Counties: "I'm delighted for everyone at the club. We have secured promotion with a fantastic group of players here. I am delighted for every single one of them. It shows what a group of players we have got. We went a goal down here today, they didn't panic, as we didn't last week. We hit form and gathered momentum to see us over the line. We'll go into League One looking to enjoy ourselves. We don't want the yo-yo effect, we have to make sure that we consolidate so we can build something here."And the best of luck, any team that counts ColU as one of their major rivals is OK by us!A local view of the game:www.buckinghamshireexaminer.co.uk/south-bucks-sport/be_wycombe_wanderers/2011/05/07/wycombe-3-1-southend-82398-28653213/More for the Chairboys boss:www.buckinghamshireexaminer.co.uk/south-bucks-sport/be_wycombe_wanderers/2011/05/07/waddock-promotion-is-my-best-as-a-manager-114018-28653479/
