Sturrock talking about Timlin 'in a meeting which will soon be taking place' returns Swindon Town

Oxford United: Southend United manager Paul Sturrock in his weekly Echo column has taken the chance of praising the quality of his squad as well as discussing the possibilty of keeping in form midfielder Michael Timlin at the club beyond his loan spell

Sturrock: 'Awards won will be for the whole team and not the individual concerned'

Blues boss Paul Sturrock is sitting on top of the world, well, League Two, as his side approach the next test to try and stretch their unbeaten run beyond the ten games thay have already enjoyed, winning nine of them, as they get ready to face fourth place Oxford United at the weekend at Roots Hall.

A standout player has been Ryan Hall, move inside to play next to Liam Dickinson, and grabbing a couple of goals in that position in two games, making it six in total and becoming joint top scorer with Dicko.

Sturrock told www.echo-news.co.uk: "Ryan Hall again hit the back of the net and that’s the ability he has in his locker. He’s come back in to the team after spending a bit of time on the bench but his attitude has been different class. His form has been recognised by him being nominated for League Two’s player of the month, while I’m on the short-list for manager of the match. But that’s only because of the excellent job everyone else is doing around as well. If either of us do win the award then it will be for the whole team and not the individual concerned."

And talking of the rest of the team, loanee midfielder Michael Timlin has been in brilliant form, a 9 from my good self for his performance in last Saturday's 2-0 win at Macclesfield.

In a few weeks he will be down to return to parent club Swindon Town, who may want them playing for them in their current form, are we trying to keep him?

Sturrock said: "Michael Timlin has also been playing very well for us and I know some fans are starting to talk about his future and what will happen when his loan spell expires in January. It is something I’m thinking about too and will be talking about with my staff in a meeting which will soon be taking place."

As for our favourite Frenchman......

Luggy continued: "I’ve also had to have words with Bilel Mohsni this week after he lost his temper towards the end of last weekend’s game at Macclesfield. He will be missing through suspension on Saturday and he certainly knows how I feel about that situation now."

I'm sure he does; you get the feeling that the vewteran Scot is not a man to be crossed, however, Sturrock wanted to finish on some good news.

Luggy concluded: "On a positive note, it’s been great to see Barry Corr back in training and involved in a behind closed doors friendly we had at the training ground this week. It’s been a frustrating time for Barry but the fact he’s getting closing to coming back now which is a big boost. At the same time we still have to be patient with him and not rush him back before he’s really ready to do so."

Indeed we shouldn't in what would be like a new signing, things continue to look up.

COME ON YOU BLUES!!!!!!
