Sturrock takes a point

Southend boss Paul Sturrock was pleased with a point after Barry Corr`s late equaliser rescued a 1-1 draw at Stevenage. Substitute Corr latched onto Sean Clohessy's pass before scoring from close range to cancel out Stacy Long`s opening goal. "I suppose a point here isn't a bad return, so I'll take it," said Sturrock. "Stevenage have been playing some good stuff this season, particularly here, so I'll see this as a positive result. "We have had all these injury problems too, so to come here and put on a good show is pleasing for me. Maybe we could even have nicked it at the end too. "We tried to stay solid and restrict Stevenage, and we did that to a certain extent. We looked capable of catching them out and there were one or two occasions when maybe we should have done a little better. "I don't think our fans can be too disheartened after this performance. They've seen lots of hard work and some good chances created."
