Northampton Town: Poor Southend United keeper Glenn Morris, his manager Paul Sturrock made it quite clear, finger dropping off or not during the victory over Port Vale last Saturday, you just keep calm and carry on!

Sturrock: 'Warned him it would have taken swans fever or something like that before he came off'   Blues boss Paul Sturrock found out Monday that No.1 shot stopper Glenn Morris, discolated finger or not, will be able to face Northampton Town on Saturday at the Sixfields after the trainer was brought on for some anxious moments for the home crowd in the second half against the Valiants.

However, though he's happy his defence kept the Port Vale attack quiet in their 3-0 win at the weekend, he believes in the future if the former Borient keeper grabs at a high ball, he'll make sure he's still got it in both hands if he falls to the ground!

Sturrock told BBC Essex: "Glen coming back to a clean sheet all goes well, he discolated his finger but he's strapped up well and got on with it. In fact it was his fault it got discolated by dropping the ball, so the next time he might think I'll keep hold of it."

Good thing to he carried on, as their were five outfield players only waiting to come on as substitutes!

Sturrock said: "No goalie on the bench, sod's law, but it fact I warned him it would have taken swans fever or something like that before he came off, he should be fine."

Er, we hope so, reserve custodian Daniel Bentley still injured we believe, however awaiting an update there, but it all looks good for Glenn to take on the Cobblers at the weekend.
