Sturrock rues injury luck

Southend boss Paul Sturrock bemoaned his side's long injury list following the 3-1 defeat by Accrington. Ryan Hall cancelled out Ian Craney's opener but Terry Gornell and a Phil Edwards penalty wrapped up the points against the under-stregth Shrimpers. Bilel Mohsni will be added to Sturrock's list of absentees at Port Vale on Saturday after his late red card, and the Scot said: "It is the most frustrating time of my whole career. "In the middle of the season we had a solid settled side but injuries and tiredness have taken their toll and we have had to swap and change the team. "We were disjointed in the first half and competent in the second but we gave away some bad goals from a corner and a penalty and we should do better."
