Sturrock rues defensive errors
Paul Sturrock was left to rue defensive lapses as Southend lost 3-1 against Wycombe.
Ex-Chairboys midfielder Anthony Grant put the visitors ahead but the Chairboys hit back to earn promotion with goals from Scott Donnelly, Ben Strevens and Scott Rendell
And Sturrock was deflated after seeing his side sign off with their first defeat in six matches.
"I'm a bit disappointed with the goals we lost, the first two were Southend-made and put them on the front foot and gave them the confidence," he said.
"The whole complexion changed then but I wish Wycombe all the best, they've been a good side all season and they deserve their promotion.
"I would have liked to have finished higher up the league - I think you've seen we're competitive against anyone in the league."
