The former Millwall striker has become Shrimpers boss Paul Sturrock's first signing of the summer, and he's confident Bomber will hit the right targets for his new club. Sturrock: 'We needed to score more goals and Neil will certainly help with that' The feeling of excitement amongst the faithful at the signing of Neil Harris shows no signs of abating as now Blues boss Paul Sturrock adds a few words to former Millwall striking legend Neil Harris wearing a  Shrimpers shirt at last after following the club since he was a child standing in the North Bank with his Dad. Sturrock told www.echo-news.co.uk: “I’m very pleased to have brought Neil to the football club. When you look at the league table last season you can see we needed to score more goals and Neil will certainly help with that. He’s an experienced goalscorer but he’s also a playmaker and I think he will fit in well. Neil is exactly what we need and he will want to do well too because he’s a Southend United supporter. He’s certainly not just come here to see out the final few years of his career.” Luggy is also hoping Neil will bring out the best of all members of the squad, not just the younger players. Sturrock continued: “He’s a good professional and will set a good example to the other players at the club. I was impressed when I spoke to him and although there has been a lot of hype surrounding us signing him, I think he will be able to deal with the pressure.”
