Sturrock may look to strengthen

Southend manager Paul Sturrock was delighted to see his injury-hit side see off lowly Barnet 2-1 at Roots ,but admitted he may have to turn to the loan market. Early goals from Craig Easton and Ryan Hall meant Steve Kabba's late header for the visitors was mere consolation. Sturrock, whose team are now just a point off the play-offs, said: "It was good to get the win because Barnet were five unbeaten away from home, so this was always not going to be an easy game. "We got two goals ahead but they got one back and it was a bit touch and go. I thought we played well in the first half, but the lads looked a bit leggy as the game wore on. "The problem is that we have a small squad and two or three of the lads are injured, and we still have another five or six Tuesday games to play. "It would be nice to rest them more, but we can't do that. I might need to get someone in on loan but I don't want to upset the applecart because we have been playing well."
