Sturrock: 'I've a couple of ideas if Corr isn't fit'; Simpson: 'May be good we're playing away'

Both Southend United boss Paul Sturrock and Macclesfield Town manager Gary Simpson have their say before Tuesday evening's league Two clash at Roots Hall; kick-off 19.45. Sturrock: 'It is no secret our home form has needed addressing' After playing the Silkmen twice in the FA Cup, where the Shrimpers drew at Moss Rose, then lost on penalties in the first round replay at Roots Hall, Blues boss Paul Sturrock is confident on his tactics to face them for the third time this season.Sturrock told www.southendunited.co.uk: "We're very familiar with Macclesfield and their style of play. They are very effective from set-pieces and they have some good throw-in toutines also. But we saw an improved performance on Friday night and now we must build on that. It is no secret our home form has needed addressing and a win tonight would see us take four points from the last two games. That's not a bad return and gives us a good platform going into the next three or four matches."Fair enough, as the last victory in front of the faithful was last October, three points at the Hall is long overdue. What won't help is the possible loss of 11 goal top scorer Barry Corr.Sturrock explained: "Barry's a doubt, but we'll wait until the last moment before deciding on our starting line-up. I've a couple of ideas if he isn't fit but we will have to wait and see." If I was sat here today and we'd not been doing that I would be extremely worried. But we've been playing well, getting into good scoring chances but just have been unable to put the ball away."One part of his team's performance is confident about is their away form where the Silkmen have picked up the same number of points than at Moss Rose!Simpson continued: "Interestingly we've not done too bad on the road. We've scored as many goals as Chesterfield, but for whatever reason we're struggling at home. So perhaps there are lessons to be learnt there. It may be a good thing then that we've two away games this week. Southend and Morecambe are both just above us in the table so two good results should see us climb a few places. But that will mean taking our chances when they come."The legendary, well whose to argue, S24 Preview:www.southendunited-mad.co.uk/roll/ed61/southend_united_v_macclesfield_town_624338/index.shtmlLatest Blues team news:www.southendunited-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/shrimpers_striker_struggling_before_silkmen_clash_624576/index.shtmlCaptain Craig on the match:www.southendunited-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/shrimpers_scottish_skipper_seeks_burns_night_success_over_silkmen_we_want_to_build_on_friday_624571/index.shtmlAn emotional day in North London:www.southendunited-mad.co.uk/feat/edy4/richard_butcher_remembered_by_macclesfield_town_at_barnet_before_both_face_southend_united_624425/index.shtml
