Both managers had their say after the surprise 1-1 draw between Shrews and Shrimpers saturday afternoon; one pleased with a point, the other not pleased to have lost two! Sturrock: 'I'm pleased to get a point'Blues boss Paul Sturrock had to be happy with a point that to Anthony Grant's late equaliser that kept his side in a midtable group in League Two, away to a side that has promotion in it's sights even this early in the season.Sturrock told BBC Essex: "After the disappointment of the last two or three games, it was important to get a result of sorts. It's been like Emergency Ward 10 over the last week with players getting all sorts of knocks so I'm pleased to get a point."Commenting on the game itself Luggy felt that both sides had the ball in equal measure. Sturrock continued: "Playing Shrewsbury, who are a top of the table, side here is difficult enough without injuries to five of our defenders. The game was pretty even - they had a good chance in the first half and so did we. So given the changes we had to make I thought we didn't look out of sorts although it did effect the balance of the side."Coughlan: 'You have to pick sides off when you have the opportunity'Meanwhile Shrews boss Graham Coughlan could not quite agree with Luggy's view of events and felt that possibily his side had let two vital points slip.Sturrock told www.shrewsburytown.com: "It's happened once or twice at home so far this season with us conceding a late goal. It's also happened once or twice where after the scoring we have dropped a little too deep, almost a fear factor of the space behind us but we needn't have been if we had carried on doing what we had been doing. You find sides like Southend come here and are well organised, playing one front player, two wide players and three central midfielders means it's difficult to play through them though we have to expect that here."Fair enough Graham, other than Luggy's great managerial skills, why didn't you go on and win?Coughlan continued: "Once we got the breakthrough through I felt comfortable but a little bit of anxiety crept in and we dropped too deep too early and that invites pressure on you. You have to pick sides off when you have the opportunity and we had several good breaks that we should have done better with."Even so, eventually, the former Hereford manager conceded that maybe his team just blew it.Coughlan concluded: "We haven't played well, we can pass the ball better than that and we have to pass it better than that. In some respects I'm not totally convinced we did enough to win it but saying that we worked hard to get that goal to give us the edge and it's careless to drop two points. Sometimes you have to scrap just to get that 1-0 win but we aren't doing that well enough at the moment. It's still a long hard season and we are going to get a lot of games like this where sides come and sit behind the ball and we have to be good enough to break them down."
